On November 7, 2009 Justin accepted an invitation to be the keynote speaker at Free to Breathe 2009 - Raleigh, the annual lung cancer fundraiser 5k walk/run sponsored by Duke Hospital. There were close to 1,000 participants at the event. Justin is shown above with his amazing doctors, Dr. Susan Blackwell, PA and Dr. Jeffrey Crawford, Chief of Medical Oncology at Duke. On March 21, 2009 Justin accepted an invitation to speak at the Kick Butts 2009 Carnival - hosted by TRU (realityunfiltered.com). He spoke alongside Reena Roberts (pictured above with Justin) from the North Carolina TRU tv commercials. These two young cancer survivors spoke a strong message of hope, determination, and courage... they trust that their stories help kids make good decisions to live a tobacco-free life. On 10/11/08, Justin's Fight Club participated in our first event to raise money for lung cancer research. Over 70 souls arrived to support the cause and be a part of Justin's Fight Club. We collected over $8,500 for the LUNGevity Foundation! Amazing considering we did this in less than five weeks! A Special Thank You to everyone who participated and contributed.
